The nature of Being

A free series of guided incantations in nature

It’s easy to lose touch with the present moment—juggling obligations, shifting between roles, and carrying the weight of difficult circumstances. In the swirl of it all, we forget the simple wonder of being here.

The Nature of Being was created as a way back.

This free series of short, guided practices (each under 10 minutes) offers a simple yet powerful reset—a daily ritual to help you reconnect with your true nature through the intelligence of the natural world.

Nature’s design reveals truths about how we can live in greater balance, harmony, and trust. If you’re in transition, uncertain about what’s next, or feeling depleted, the answer isn’t to push harder—it’s to slow down and listen. Because the truth is: you can’t change your experience of life if you’re not fully present for it.

Through these self-awareness practices, you will:

  • Access more of your intuitive wisdom and a deeper trust in yourself

  • Open to new perspectives and possibilities

  • Transform how you relate to struggle

  • Feel grounded, remembering you are a part of nature—not apart from it

Nature is always offering us a mirror, reflecting us back to ourselves.

A leaf decomposing reminds you that old beliefs can soften too.
A newly planted apple tree teaches that not everything bears fruit right away.
Water shows how to adapt—flowing around obstacles, finding a way through.

You don’t need an hour-long sit or a silent retreat—just a willingness to pause and notice what’s happening around and within you. You can do these practices outdoors, surrounded by nature, or indoors, drawing on your memory and imagination.

Give yourself the gift of a practice like this — one that nourishes your relationship with yourself and deepens your reverence for the living world.

As Mary Oliver wrote: “Never hurry through the world, but walk slowly, and bow often.”

Special thanks to my colleague and brilliant friend Carin Dean of The Joy Institute, who co-created this series with me.
